Meeting Minutes

Announcements

  • MHA Community Partner Award Luncheon December 8, 2009 – Katherine and Gabriela attended the event and received the award on behalf of the MLHC Mental Health Action Team for the partnership in producing a Spanish language section in MHA’s Resource Guide.
  • Meeting with Milwaukee County Behavioral Health Division – We are still waiting for the meeting to be scheduled.  The hope is that it will be scheduled in mid March.
  • Proyecto Salud Mental Health Training for Health Promoters – Taking place on Saturdays March through May.  Contact Stephanie for more info: stephaniec@core-elcentro.org.

Approval of previous meeting minutes

The minutes from 11-19-09 were approved, followed by a discussion on how to best approve the minutes and to make the minutes available to the members of the MLHC.

Update on Community-Based Behavioral Activation for Latinos with Depression—Dr. Jonathan Kanter

  • Dr. Kanter handed out a summary of the project along with a draft of the focus groups II (Phase I, Part 22) for review and comment.
  • Dr. Kanter presented on how the project was coming along.  Feedback was provided by the Action Team meeting attendees.

Setting a timeline for 2010 goals

  • MHA Spanish Language Bookmark – final additions and edits to Cara at MHA by March 1st
  • Meeting with Milwaukee County Behavior Health Division – Meet by end of March and set up additional follow-up meetings if needed.
  • Warmline Inc. – Meet with Lyn Malofsky in March to discuss training of Spanish-speaking Warmline operators.
  • Peer Support Specialists – Get in contact with Our Space to determine how many Spanish-speaking Peer Support Specialists are available for employment.  Peter will attempt contact with Our Space again and forward information to Leslie.
